We recently created a new playlist for artists of all genres to submit music and gain exposure. It’s called “Music Lover’s Pizza Playlist: Supreme.” The idea had been cooking for a while, and we finally mapped it out in a way that made sense.
This playlist is geared toward—well, music lovers. People who may gravitate toward one genre more than others, but who still enjoy sounds from all across the spectrum. Our goal is to connect them with talented, lesser-known artists of all sizes. Regardless of genre, if the song is good, then the song is good—and we want to add it.
While working on this playlist, one question kept surfacing:
How do you find (and pitch to) playlist curators in 2025?
It’s a question on every musician’s mind. And while the core principles stay pretty consistent, the methods evolve every year—especially with tools like AI becoming more accessible and powerful.
So, rather than give you our own take, we asked ChatGPT how it would approach the question. Here's what it said:

🔎 HOW TO FIND PLAYLIST CURATORS
Spotify Profile Scouting
Search for artists with a similar sound.
Check the “Discovered On” section of their profiles.
Click through playlists to find user-curated ones (not official editorial).
Grab curator usernames and search for them on Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, or TikTok.
Use Playlist Research Tools
SubmitHub (some free, some paid).
Groover, DailyPlaylists, IndieMono, Soundplate, PlaylistPush – still relevant.
Chartmetric or Songstats – great for tracking who’s adding what.
SpotOnTrack or PlaylistSupply – helpful for advanced filtering and contact info.
TikTok & Instagram
Search hashtags like #indieplaylist or #moodmusic.
Many curators now run both a playlist and a TikTok channel.
DM or comment if they list their Spotify handle.
Reddit & Discord
Subreddits: r/spotifyplaylists, r/indieheads, r/listentothis.
Join niche Discord servers—many have "playlist-promo" channels.
LinkedIn & Email Discovery Tools
📨 HOW TO PITCH TO PLAYLIST CURATORS
🔑 Golden Rule: “Make it easy for them to say yes.”
🎯 Customize Your Pitch
Use this simple format:
Subject: Song for [Playlist Name] – [Your Track Name]
Hi [Curator Name], I'm [Your Name], a [genre] artist from [City]. I recently released a track called “[Track Name]” that I think would fit well on your [Playlist Name] — especially alongside [Artist/Song from their playlist].
It’s a blend of [style 1] and [style 2] with a [emotion/vibe] feel. Here’s the link if you’d like to check it out: 🎧 [Spotify Link]
If it’s a fit, I’d be honored to be added — and I’ll definitely share the playlist! Thanks so much for your time 🙏 – [Your Name / Artist Handle]
📎 Pro Tips
Keep it short and personal. No bios or press kits.
Don’t attach files — always use streaming links.
Tone: humble, confident, and clear.
Offer to share their playlist — they’ll appreciate the traffic.
Follow up once after 7–10 days (but not more than that).
🧠 Advanced Tips
Build relationships before pitching. Comment, share, DM — no asks, just engagement.
Use a CRM or Google Sheet to track outreach and responses.
If you land a placement, thank them publicly (tag them!) and drive traffic to their playlist.
Consider building your own niche playlist and collab with others to cross-promote.
Final Thoughts
We got that response from ChatGPT in under 5 seconds, and it highlighted two key things:
AI is incredibly powerful — fast, functional, and easy to use. It’s becoming an essential tool for everything from research to outreach and strategy.
Musicians should absolutely be using it to improve their understanding of best practices, marketing, and technical execution — especially for the stuff that isn’t always fun.
Personally, I’m not a huge fan of AI in the creative side of music-making — but when it comes to analytics, strategy, writing, or data mining? I’ve gotta admit, it’s insanely helpful.
The approach ChatGPT offered matches what most industry “gurus” are already recommending — so there’s definitely something to it. Not saying you should jump off a bridge just because everyone else is, but if everyone is seeing playlisting results from these methods... maybe it’s worth a look.
Try the techniques above and let us know how it goes. Maybe your first stop could be the “Music Lover’s Pizza Playlist: Supreme” — just click the name above or hit the button below... cough cough wink wink nudge nudge
